Tip #1

I have to start a new category on this blog and it’s called Tips. The reason that I have to start this category is that I have a really good tip to share, and I have a feeling there will be more.

GO TO A KNITTING RETREAT.

Seriously, you will not regret it.

I wish I had some pictures to add here, but it was a busy weekend and I completely forgot that I had a camera with me. I’ll have to get better at that.

So here’s the story with some links that you can check out instead:

Knit U. was put on by Fiona and Amanda from Knit Social. I went last year as well and it was fabulous then … and it was fabulous this year. We had FIVE workshop sessions with Kate Atherley (first link is blog, second is website) and I never would have thought I could learn as much as I did. It was amazeballs. I’m sure Kate will be blogging about the retreat, so check her blog for the pictures I didn’t take. I’m going to have to do another post on Kate’s sessions because there’s Just. So. Much.

I met some new people and saw some from last year’s retreat (Hi Karen! Hi Laurie!) and I will have to get linked up with everyone on Ravelry. There were a few more on this trip than last year, which was great to see. I gifted a skein of Shine on you crazy laceweight in a special Knit U. colourway for everyone, and they seemed to love it. That made me smile.

I REEEEEEEEALLY want to see what everyone knits with the skein, so if you’re reading this, please remember to post your projects on Ravelry with a magic link to the Two Tigers yarn.

Thanks for a great weekend!
